About the Product
Brigger chairs are modular and ship disassembled in a carton via UPS or a similar service. Assembly requires modest effort and minimal hardware and tools, all of which are provided with instructions. The basic components are the metal frame in two parts, the seat frame cover, the wooden arms with connecting cross piece, the upholstered seat cushion, and all hardware. The recliner includes a leg support assembly.
Assembly Instructions
Seat Assembly
Assemble the metal seat frame by joining its two parts according to the color markings. Slide the plastic strap from the end marked “top” to the markings near the bend. This step requires some force to zig-zag the strap against the tension of the metal frame. This procedure makes the seat rigid, which is a fundamental design element of Brigger chairs.
Slide the assembled metal frame into the sewn frame cover. Lay the cover on the floor with the zippered opening facing you. Insert the end marked “top” with the sign facing up and pull the cover over the frame. Fold the zippered end over the end of the metal frame, engage the zipper, and close it.
Chair Assembly
Lay one wood arm flat and install a threaded rod in the threaded insert as far as it will go. Place the wood cross piece on the threaded rod with the cutout facing down. Install a washer and nut, and tighten the nut with the included wrench as tightly as possible. Lay the second arm flat and install a threaded rod. Place the covered seat frame in the grooves in the arm and the support. The frame will only fit one way, which is the correct way.
Pick up the other arm with the cross piece and place it so the cross piece enters the threaded rod and the grooves engage the seat frame. When properly positioned, the washer and nut can be installed and the nut tightened. It is essential that the nut be fully tightened, using any necessary force to ensure the cross piece is firmly attached to the arms.
Installing Front Plates
At the front of the arms near the slot for the seat frame are two threaded inserts that allow for the installation of metal plates provided as hardware. Tighten the screws with the hex wrench.
The final step is to place the upholstered cushion on the seat, noting its correct orientation.
